When Life Throws You a Curve Ball
January 14, 2009
Not all things are predictable, nor are we prepared for everything that arrives in our life. When thrown a curve ball in life it is important to gather the facts and consider your options before responding. Moving away from the emotional response is key to making a good decision when you have to deal with an unexpected circumstance.
When your life is in order, you are less likely to be thrown off balance by events out of your control. It is much easier to handle hurdles when you have been taking care of business along the way.
If you encounter a catastrophic event, having a close support system in place will be beneficial. Whether it be a personal or a professional setback, the right people and resources will give you strength when you are weakened.
The Curve Ball Notebook:
Keep a notebook handy with the all the important information in your life including the names and phone numbers of those you may need to contact in an emergency. Consolidating this information in one handy place will reducing the stress and time it takes to gather it in the midst of a crisis. No one wants to spend time looking for a phone or account number while they are emotionally distraught. Take time to organize important documents properly.
The key to surviving uncertainty is preparation and a strong social support network.

Personal Concierge Services
November 13, 2008
Most of us have stayed in a hotel and utilized the Concierge to find a place to eat, tickets to an event and even directions someplace as well as many other requests. My clients contact me all day long with all kinds of questions like this. They want to know who can save their over budget project? Who has the best content management system? Who do I know at a particular company? Who is this kid my kid is talking to online? What do I think about how much their kids are playing video games? Who is the best Doctor for my neck pain? Where should I take my family on vacation? and they go on and on and this was just since 7:00 AM this morning.
Having a personal resource that can get you answers on the fly can be a huge benefit and cost effective when you no longer have a secretary or personal assistant at the office or are just short on time. Serving a client as a Personal Concierge is rewarding when you are a wealth of knowledge and have resource capabilities to provide information timely.
With people having accumulated so much stuff and piles at home and in the work-place and with recent down-sizing many are bogged down with the clutter on their desks and in their heads. Having a Personal Concierge to get you information and support with just one call can relieve a lot of stress and save you a great deal of time and is very cost effective under the current economic stresses most people and corporations are faced with today.
If you ever used a Concierge when staying in a hotel why not try using a Personal Concierge in your business or at home to get you what you want instantly. There are a great many talented bright people available that are currently working as a Personal Concierge or are capable of filling their time off as one so line one up for yourself today.
Time to set the clocks back
November 1, 2008
We will be setting our clocks back an hour tonight which means this is a great time to take advantage of the extra hour your biological clocks give you tomorrow morning.
“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”
- Ben Franklin, famously
“Put no trust in the benefits to accrue from early rising, as set forth by the infatuated Franklin …”
- Mark Twain
Use the quiet time tomorrow morning as you wake up an hour early to start your day doing something that makes you feel good. As you rise putting your feet on the ground from your bed try and become more aware of your self and your environment and appreciate the people and things around you. Watch the sunrise, make a good breakfast, sit in peace and enjoy the quiet silencing your thoughts and just listening to the calm.
This evening take some time to write down a detailed description of where you would like to be in your life as if you are already there. Write several affirmations to state out load in the morning. Vow to persevere as you focus your efforts on your dreams the minute you open your eyes in the morning.
If negative thoughts and fear starts to emerge say “cancel” and go back to your focus. Redirecting your mind away from the negative will do a lot to achieve success in what previously appeared destined for failure.
Take your writing with you and re-read your focus during the day and check in where your at and make adjustments accordingly. Try not to multi-task too much, focus on one thing at a time. This extra hour we all get tomorrow morning comes at a very needed time. Let’s work together and use it to make a difference in our own lives and carry that out into the world tomorrow.
