Approaches to Successful Online Social Media Investigations

Social networking sites are virtual communities. As in any large community, criminal organizations, fraud, violent crime, and victimization exist. These virtual communities transcend traditional geographic and national boundaries. Investigators need to understand these communities along with the tools, tricks, and techniques to identify, track, and solve crimes.

Though currently working as Director of Training for Pacific Region Security & Intelligence (PRSI), Anthony still provides a variety of consulting services, curriculum development, operational material, and instructional support to DynCorp International’s Phoenix Training Center in Alexandria, VA.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 14 — The lawyer for private investigator P. Balasubramaniam said today the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) willingness to meet with his client is a positive development but insisted that the private investigator’s safety must be guaranteed.
“It certainly appears to be a positive statement but we will have to wait for the MACC to contact us directly with acceptance of the conditions set for the interview,” said Americk Sidhu in an email to The Malaysian Insider.
